Procedural Law

Procedural Law

About This Training

There are two main areas of procedural legislation with their respective codes of practice, namely Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and the Criminal Procedures Investigations Act (CPIA). These provide detailed procedures when investigating offences and offenders which can be prosecuted in a criminal court. There is further legislation namely the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 (RIPA) which sets out the procedures for certain covert tactics deployed by the Police and other named Public Authorities such as Councils.

Our courses cover all the requirements of the legislation and codes of practice to provide the necessary knowledge and confidence when following these procedures.
